That plant/turtle guy I made based on a mythical creature that everyone cried "Pokemon!" on?
If anyone cries "Pokemon" to this thing, I'll kick you in the teeth.

It almost looks like the plant has grown through the animal, killing it, but keeping the body functions so that it may control it.
Sounds more Lovecraft then anything from a poorly made anime.

Well I must say this version looks hardly like Torterra, I like how it looks like the plant has taken over and the turtle is simply a vessel for it(if that is the case), thoe I dont see why you cared that peaple said the other looked like Torterra, it wasnt a insult(as far as I know), Pokemon are baised on many things, this was probly baisd off the same thing as Torterra, besides Pokemon is awnsome.

Personally, I think Pokemon did a funky ass job with their take on the creature. It's too hard edged and flat looking.
This guy, as I sorta recall, is pretty creepy and badass looking. I remember playing this korean MMO for awhile, Silkroad. They had these types of creatures as enemies in the early areas along with bipedal giant weasels with giant knives and tiger skin wearing hill billys. It was an undead looking bugger though and it shot green flames.

Oh it was, especially when you fight the elite ones that are three times as big. Alas that game, like a lot of MMO's was a total grind whore and there were bots everywhere. It gets ridiculess when you're hunting for literally hundreds of drops off of one type of enemy.
Anyway, Torterra has nothing on this thing. I could make Torterra badass because I'm awesome like that (lol pokemon fanart). But you'd have to expand it's detail and anatomy way out of its cookie cut out style to come close what you've come up with. Aspido is that kind of kaiju that makes you think 'Oh shit, this thing is too bizzare to deal with'.

Oh wow, that's a heck of a turtle. I enjoy how the plant parts are literally a part of his being instead of just growing on his shell, etc. He's probably slow as hell though, hahaha.

This is pretty awesome looking, Kali. I like the overall design, especially the evil tree breaking into the turtle shell, and the root/tongues.

The tree breaking through the shell, rather than growing on top of it is a nice touch. The tendrils and spiked tongues really complete the look. I especially dig the flower thingies.
