It has wings, but they're not like typical western dragon wings. They work kind of like a flying lizard or gliding snake, but with more control and lift.

I think that this dragon looks much better than the Model and supposed film version of the dragon, It always did annoy me how they incorrectly added wings to an EASTERN ORIGINATED DRAGON, the clue was in the bloody name 'CHINESE FIREBALL' (idiots).

Yes, the Chinese dragon lacks wings, including the dragon of the Chinese Zodiac, along with the two legendary elemental dragons, Seiryu (the Azure Dragon of the East), and Huang Long (the Yellow Dragon of the Center).

In all honest, I do not believe Rowling had in mind the typical eastern dragon species when she wrote the books, not what I remember atleast.

I take the Chinese part of the name literally. It may not be what she meant, but there are no very good descriptions of it anywhere.
