Added 3/11/08Here is the Sledge Bro, from my favorite world in SMB3, the Giant World. That place was cool, though these guys killed me. Alot.

Green and mean. He actually reminds me of the Kritter from the recent Donkey Kong games. I agree with the fellows above, him and the Clubba would make a good team. Also a very good pose.

An odd picture, but that's the Kritter.
Yeah, I always saw the Mushrooms and Toadstools as Nintendo's way of paying tribute to their main "source of inspiration" for the Mario series. If you know what I mean.

But they do look cool. Bipedal turtles are only beat by bipedal crocodiles, in my book.

The real trouble with Sledges is, that when a Sledge jumps and lands on the ground, it causes the ground to shake, which can paralyze Mario if he's standing on the ground as well.
I like the design, it looks quite fierce, you captured the size of them well.

Funny...I recall the Giant World, but not these guys. Just as well-I suspect they'd have given me aneurysms if I ever got that far. It struck me as damn odd that despite their monstrous proportions, the Koopas & Goombas I did encounter didn't require more than the good ol' leaping stomp...though you might wanna think twice about kicking those super-sized shells on an enclosed platform.
Almost forgot to comment on the piece: nice pose, love that face, and that hammer is really something. Given their well-known blunt-tool fetish, did Bowser make some sort of deal with the Norse gods?

They were the Hammer Bros wandering the screen in that world, though I think one opened a level...
That was really strange. It would have been fun to get there, think they were like regular enemies, then discover it took two or three jumps to kill them.
The Norse god thing would be a good idea, but I don't think he's thought of it yet. He'd have better luck if he had!
