Description this picture is a part of my serie devote to World War One and more presicely to Verdun in France.
It's the same forest that the picture "a tree to remember" [link]
and you could see the same shell holes who produce this strange deformation of the earth....

A brilliant photo! I love the background: Trees fading into forever
Once again it has that such strong emotion, partly brought on by the great title

I never knew there were shell holes like these that remained after all these years, if I ever make it to France I will have to find some.

C'est vrai, beaucoup de personnes ont raison dans leur commentaire, l'endroit est particulièrement surréaliste. Et le centrage parfait de l'arbre et la colorisation renforce vraiment cet aspect particulier.. Encore un excellent boulot

Just like breezbug said.. I love how that one tree just stands out from the rest. It is kind of seperated and stuck in it's own depression in the earth...
