I only died once with the traps in the arena. But I finished him with Masamunes for the party

Most satisfying boss battle in the series to win. When this foe finally falls you feel like you truly downed a god. Worth every minute of preparation and battling.

Yeah, that feeling of victory stays in mind for a really long time. I still remember that battle. And still love this boss.

Looks a lot like Annihilator Karnos from Mardek 3.
You thought Sephiroth has a lot of HP.
You thought wrong.
Yiazmat from final fantasy twelve has much more than Sephiroth.
Do you know how long it can take to beat this boss?
Four hours.
FOUR BLOODY HOURS!
Why did they give him 50,000,000 HP? And plant him in such a way that once you took down half his HP you can only do a certain amount of damage to him. He has a bunch of instadeath attacks. If you use renew, it can bounce off the party and fully heal Yiazmat. And you have to do the entire battle all over again.
Why do they make a boss like this? It has been claimed the most annoying boss in this video.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwbeZj…
Tell me this. Do you Like Yiazmat for the way he's set in development, appearance, or the boss fight, or everything in general? Because A boss fight should not take more than even a full hour unless it has several stages like Malefore from The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon (Which doesn't even take half an hour).

Nah, Sephiroth is just a pussy if he stands near Yiazmat's health bar In FFVII you can level up your characters to the stage, when they kill him in few successful strikes.
You cant do that in FFXII. This Dragon wont let you take him easy.
And my love for Yiazmat is gathered from many aspects of his appearance. The battle with him is a bit annoying, yes, but its not so hard. Its more for a time challenge, not for a hard strategy or tactic and planning. Like in Gran Turismo, when i played B-Spec mode 24-hour Le Mans Race. When you beat 24 hour race, few hours battle with a boss in your favorite game is not so much, in fact.
But mostly i love him for his appearance, his gorgeous looking, his detailed "skin", his magical wings and horns. He is colossal, amazing and totaly great by the way he looks.

I'll take your word for that. But I admire Sephiroths fighting style during cutscenes like in Crisis Core when he fights between Angeel (I hope I spelled that right) and Genesis. His hair is also neat. But I do know that his massive HP is nothing compared to Yiazmats. So they both have great appearances. I admire Sephiroths style. You admire Yiazmats style. It's good to know that we both have our likes on these characters.
I'm not a huge gamer (In fact I hardly play at all). So I have a question for you. Is Yiazmat optional or required?
I would not want to spend two to four hours fighting a single boss that can fully heal if I use the wrong spell at the wrong time even when I'm close to beating it. I heard in a video that that's possible if you're not careful. That's how he's a lot annoying in battle. But I've never played the game before.

That's good advice in case I do play it one day. Because when I play a single game, I like to play the hell out of it. I like to master the entire thing and 100% everything. Like finding every treasure in Uncharted. Every firefly pendant, comic book, and slip of paper in The Last of Us. And every gem, armour, and stat upgrade in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.
Don't you feel that way when you have nothing but trophies to collect.

Well, if you want to do the same in FFXII, you have to spent a looooooot of time, cause this game is just full of gatherable content, side-quests, achievments, items, treasures, secrets, rare monsters etc. I spend about 230 hours on it and still didnt got everything
But i really enjoyed every hour spend ^__^ This game is a true masterpiece, the best example of the series and the genre itself.
And my advice for you - just wait for Remsatered edition of FFXII (I still believe that they will make it pretty soon).
Just to play Zodiac Job System version of it.

I old you I'm not a big gaming guy so I don't think I'll have the console for a Remastered version. I just bought Uncharted 2 and Resident Evil 5 golden edition yesterday. I think I'll play the crap out of them first.
Plus all my data on LittleBigPlanet 2, The Last of Us, and Legend of the Guardians got deleted by some $&hole who borrowed our PS3. It's all gone. Progress, trophies, everything. Now I have to do them all over again so I think I'll have plenty of time to catch up before the remastered version comes out anyway. However my data on Dawn of the Dragon and Shadow of the Colossus is all safe since that's the PS2 version I have for both of them. I've been looking for PS3 versions with no luck.
If this game comes out for PS2 or PS3 then I can play it. We're not huge console fanboys. We're just Sony types. My camera, Our PlayStations 2 & 3, our blu-ray player, we're mainly Sony people. If we do get a PS4 anytime for a remastered Final Fantasy XII then we're going to wait until PS4s become cheaper after the release of the PS5 which would do something absolutely ridiculous. I can't picture what they would do but I know for a fact that if they were gong to show that then it would be absurdly powerful. I plan for a game version of my book to be on one of those since there's so much to discover. But it's going to be such a long time. And I certainly don't need a remastered version of The Last of Us because there's a bunch (and by a bunch I mean a LOT) of Physical copies of the regular The Last of Us I could buy at EB Games for dirt cheap price since our digital copy and all our DLCs were deleted by that mother (#&!er who borrowed the PS3. Around 5 dollars for most games. Even the best ones. That's dirt cheap for Uncharted 2. But LittleBigPlanet 3 for PS3 is 40 dollars there which I don't get.
PS: All our game data and pre-downloaded stuff that came with the PS3 at dirt cheap price was replaced with porn. Me and my brother have a plan for our revenge. We're going to tell his mother about what he left behind as well as what he had done to throw away something that someone has to buy in order to play.

Even with Decoy, Reverse, and Bubble on Vaan/Basch (my tanks, equipped with Masamune, Magepower Shishak, Maximillian, and Genji Gloves), this thing is still near-impossible to take down. Did I mention my party's all around level 74? Yeah, there's that. At the lower part of half health (close to HP Critical), literally the most you can do is take down one bar before having to retreat to the Save Crystal.
Needless to say, this fight takes some time. Still have no idea how you could accomplish it in a single day; not sure I want to know.
I may have to use the "Stone-Zodiark" strategy* once I get it down into HP Critical, might be the only way to damage it since I'll probably spend all my time reviving my party.
*The final Esper, Zodiark, has the most powerful cinematic attack in the game, dealing 50,000 damage regardless of defense to its target. On Yiazmat, it's 35,000. This ability can be activated immediately by casting "Break" on the summoner, since Zodiark will use Final Eclipse immediately if the summoner is under the "Petrify" status.
Anyway, amazing detail on him, totally sums up the sheer ferocity and dominance I've come to associate with this guy. Still can't believe that massive thing jutting out of the even bigger ring is just his friggin' HORN! o_O

I just beat him yesterday (it's my second try -- but took days or maybe weeks as I came back some hours every few days, lol).
I have to say I kinda despised Yiazmat before I beat him (Like, okay I had a bad strategy -- as at first, I just thought to test a fight with him, but I endured until 4 or 3 millions of his HP left. But there, I was stuck with reviving my party members; what with him growing more deadly than before. Upset, I left the game for days).
I changed strategy, and after I vanquished him, I felt like I just won a great battle. Feel so proud~ haha.
In the end though, looking back at it, it's a real fun thing to fight Yiazmat. Makes me wanna try again. XD
(Gotta love Infuse, Berserk, Reverse, Decoy and Dark Matter. )
The only thing's left for me is Omega Mark XII. Not too thrilled to try him as I really hate the Great Crystal with passion. >_< (The maps are confusing me).

First time i've fought him without any guides or strategies. I just come to colosseum, find this HUGE thing with 50 HP bars and turn around, running as far as i can
Then, after some hours of grind, i returned to beat this guy. Maaan, it took about a hour to clear one bar... And then i thinked, maybe it would be a better idea to retreat and heal a bit. And i run away, healed all my party... So Yiazmat do.
HE IS FCKING HEALED HIMSELF!
And then... I forget about him until i reached level 90-99 for all group members
And congratulations to you! Achievment unlocked, well done)))
Omega is much more easier... And faster for sure) Reverse is the key
