Description oth were brought up meant to be prodigies (Itachi succeeding while Madoka failing), and proved they were far beyond the average human being (for context, Madoka is technically BOTH a success and a failure, more on that later). However, a tragedy struck and ended up causing their once bright futures to be shattered, and at the end of it all they were left alone; with very little family left alive in general and no one to turn to… no one but the terrorist organization they eventually join. Said terrorist organizations seek to dominate the planet via gathering objects of power (Tailed Beasts and Infinite Stratos Units), however Itachi and Madoka used the group to fulfill a different motive. Itachi trying to make Sasuke into a hero, while Madoka tries to get revenge on her older sister Chifuyu for abandoning her, but both motives require the same action to be undertook, torturing their brothers in any way they can (both of whom happen to be popular students at an academy that teaches others the ways of combat with their world’s respective abilities, Chakra and IS Units) as family matters most to them. All while keep a cold-hearted facade in order to hide their true emotions, and whenever they show up, they mean business and dominate the battle, with very few exceptions if any.
But they aren’t one to one the same, besides their motives they are different in other ways. For instance, said personalities they hide differ, with Itachi being a noble family man who cares for his brother and village above all else, putting his needs and wants after them while also being kind all around; compared to Madoka who never had that luxury and ended up becoming prideful, uncaring, and sometimes sadistic, desiring power as a means to claim her place in the world, a place she feels was taken from her by her sister. Not to mention how Itachi was essentially a prodigy from day one and was reminded of it, whereas Madoka was reminded of how she failed to meet expectations despite being a ‘success’. For context, Madoka is an artificial human crafted from the Mosaic Project, or the Orimura Plan, made as a backup for the project’s first success, Chifuyu Orimura; the project itself made to create beings that far surpassed the natural limitations of humans. While she did meet THOSE expectations, she was often compared to Chifuyu, and not greatly, so she was hidden away from her, and then left behind by everyone once the Project was canned, even by her sister who decided to take the third successful project, Ichika, with her. Itachi was more prone to hiding away his emotions due to him putting others before himself, whereas Madoka did everything she could to project her outrage onto the world. He had his place in the world locked down from birth, she had hers taken away due to circumstances beyond her control, trauma plays differently depending on the person. Itachi always had other people on his mind as to why he fights, Madoka cares only for herself and her own place, the star she hopes to grasp. And while she mostly has to get reigned in by her commander from time to time, Itachi’s a lot smarter in that regard and knows when to back off and retreat. Its the waves crashing against the shore, one who exerts herself onto the world and others while one steels himself away in the shadows for the sake of others, the kind sibling versus the cruel sibling, both with a new persona they try hard to maintain while accomplishing their goals.
To give a tldr: Antagonistic anime siblings to major characters (who are popular students at a combat-centric academy) who hide their feelings with a cold-hearted facade; once set up for a bright future which was swiped away by forces beyond their control. Now they undertake a darker path alongside a terrorist organization seeking to change the world, but they joined for a reason differing from the group’s goals. A goal that requires them to torture their brothers any way they can.

tbh i like this one now even tho im not into harem animes this is a good exception sesshomaru vs itachi is good but sesshomaru vs vergil and kaito teijo is just no tbh plus kaito teijo has spectra from bakugan tbh
