Description This is my contest entry for the contest  All Mediums Contest: Your Take On ItDear members,
Welcome to yet another projecteducate contest in which all art mediums are accepted. We've got a bit of a different prompt for you this time around, and we hope you will find it as exciting as we do! Please carefully read all the details below to find out how to enter!
The Prompt:
For this contest, we are going to present you with a wide variety of inspiring artworks from a large variety of art mediums. To enter the contest, you are going to pick 1 of these pieces of art, and you are going to create your own version of it.
What does this mean exactly? We all have different styles, different art mediums, different interpretations of certain concepts and emotions, different visions, etc. For this contest, we want you to take one of these already existing pieces, and use it as the inspiration for your own new piece, based on it.
Your entry can be in any medium you choose, so for example, if you choose a digital art piece, your entry can be any art
I was so much fun to draw my own interpretation of the drawing "Journey" by www.deviantart.com/bunny7766/

I must begin this critique by saying that this piece very obviously had an incredibly ambitious vision and goal. Skyline images, regardless of the angle from which they are depicted, are presented (generally) with a need for large gradients and accurate shading. You've done both of these well and that is amazing. Wonderful work.

The depth of distance between the sky where this man is and the ground below is further illustrated by the strong contrast of color and the distance between the skyline and the man is accentuated by the cloud shapes and layering.

Impressive! I did lower slightly on technique, but only because I really feel that the focal point on the man in this painting and the focal point on the skyline could both have flowed a little more into each other more efficiently. What I mean by this is that if we use the Rule of Thirds to bring two important focal points together smoothly, it makes the overall visuals more appealing and easier to focus on as a whole.

If you don't know what the rule of thirds is, you can check that out below:
emptyeasel.com/2009/02/03/the-…

Regardless, the impact of this piece is fantastic, the colors are stunning, your depth and space are well implemented, and the overall intended focus is still clear. Fantastic work; thank you for sharing your artwork with us!

Thank you for this incredibly kind review!! It made my day and I'm always thankful for every comment!! Feed back helps me a lot every time

I know about the rule of thirds, though I tried to use the golden ratio in this painting. But I'm not sure if it creates the right effect

I'm so glad to hear that . And again I have to thank you that you appreciate my art it gives me motivation

The Golden Ratio definitely explains why every element of your painting has its own place, space, and focus.  I think that it did play a huge part here and I also believe that it provided extra ease for providing that contrast between the ground and the sky.  Also an excellent choice.

By far this is an amazing piece. The skyline is magnificent. The lights from the city are beautiful as well. I do have a few ideas on pushing this even more. The basket on the balloon feels really off. I think looks more like she is holding onto a ridge scale of something instead of being in a large basket. It feels flat and looks off. I think it has a lot to do with the shape and the texture. Almost every image I could find of a hot air balloon the basket is really just a large wicker basket. I've included an example. www.eballoon.org/images/880471… You could easily do round basket instead of the traditional rectangle shaped ones and I think that the shape would still work but The texture and the shading give this one a more solid flat look, like she is standing on something and looking over a raised ridge of some sort. It may also be a good idea to add some substance to the cords holding up the basket as they hold a large amount of weight. Overall I think that this is an amazing piece and you did insanely well with it.

Oh wow thank you so much!! It is so helpful and motivational to get feedback like yours!!

You actually detected, what I had a hard time on. I didn't know exactly how to draw the basket. Maybe I need to really overwork it . I am not satisfied with it 100% myself. But a confirmation from someone else is somethimes necessary to be sure

So thank you very much

This is an astounding piece of art. The amount of detail is amazing. The lights of the city being seen from above, the clouds, the stars in the sky. It all ties it together. The shading is beautiful. I love the lights reflecting off of the ocean. It's a very amazing take on seeing a big city above. The detail in the girl's hair looks great. How did you do that? I'm pretty new to art, so giving me a few pointers on drawing hair would be much appreciated. Keep on drawing, you're doing amazing. I can't wait to see what else you make.

Thank you so much I appreciate that you like it and thank you for this kind words

I don't know which program you are using for drawing. But in photoshop there are brushes that already look like hair or there are even special hair-brushes. If you don't have photoshop I'm sure they are free painting programs with hair brushes. For example Krita (I'm not sure if they are nice brushes in this program but I it's free so you could just try it out)

How I draw hair in particular is difficult to explain. Usually I first draw the dark sports and then add highlights at the end. Maybe you might want to check out the drawing process of the painting:

Okay, I'll be sure to do that! I drew one of my OCs yesterday, and I wasn't happy with how his hair came out.

Hi! I´m from

Another extraordinary drawing. Deserved to be seen by every human being on the face of the earth!
Starting with the sensation that you are in the air, precisely in that aerostatic balloon that looks great, how you see that city that is dark but that play of lights that gives you endless details and points of attention in it, the landscape seen in the sky, the way the girl reflects and fuses with the environment, the way the balloon is made, how it is drawn, illuminated, shaded, balanced, the depth is also the clouds superimposed on the picture.

It's a great picture what you've done. In truth, this drawing deserves to be seen by many more people. It is pure platinum for the eyes what is expressed here

AncientInsainity [2018-07-01 15:22:27 +0000 UTC]

Amazing! But i feel like those clouds are too close to the ground, like instead of covering the city they'd be covering the sunset more sense the girl is cloud level based on the cloud covering her legs.
I also feel that the city more on the left side, could use more lights, in goes from really bright and lit up like how a city in the night would be, to almost nothing.  As the landscape gets further away on the left side, i would suggest making the lights smaller to a point where they wouldnt be seen as well. And i dont mean the lights by the lake, they're fine the way they are, just the pitch black city is what needs more lights. Everything else is perfect the way it is

This is purely fantastic and amazing... it's like pure imagination being drawn and shown in this piece. I like how you used balance between light and darkness to show of a simple and expressive imagination.  The colouring of this is simply pure and light makes you wanna fly up in the sky as if I was flying to see some sort of journey. It feel empowering and amazing. I love how you gave a "night light city vibe" in the horizon it reminds me how i felt in New York at night going a tour with my friends as if we were as well having a journey to wonder. I seriously love this artwork and it amazes me to see pure talent. You understand exactly how scenery and landscapes work with adding a little imagination to make a wondrous art.
