Oh, I just took a look at this one again, and recognized, I did not tell,
how it moved me!
When I first saw it, I got goosebumps in my neck, don't know, must have fit my mood.
But now it is still moving me, reminds me of tears and Vergänglichkeit and so much...
brings tears to my eyes.
Thank you!!!

I don't know if you've ever heard of William Miller, but this STRONGLY reminds me of this piece he did (www.williammillerphoto.com/gow… . His stuff in general is pretty cool.
I really dig this though. The distortions are real eye candy, letting it handsomely straddle the line between abstract shapes and representation. I also love how the the parts with the trees are a lot more glossy, and then these flat sections drift in, almost like fog. It's basically monochrome, except for the leaves. That one toward the top is a nice touch.
I think it's fairly easy to read a kind of ecological statement into this. The distortions of the trees, an essential natural element, juxtaposed against the leaves which are not so much distorted, but in almost ever case muted by the different textures. I am a bit biased by my previous experience with Miller's piece though, so I kind of assume that whatever it is that is giving the water those different textures is pollution.
Also, I really love the upper left corner, where everything gets all spotty like its disintegrating, or a million black stars are beginning to show in the evening sky. If this was a print, it might even look a little like the print itself was damaged which would add a cool extra dimension to the piece..
