Description WELL hello.
So this super fun landscape was made from this photographer here
and here you can see the image... [link]
His work is AMAZING please do check it out!

This is oil on canvas, and 4x4 feet.
I think it's safe to say that this is near to the largest I've ever done...if not the largest. It took a few weeks but it was worth it!

The painting is more amazing! I like how the lines of the mountains and sky angle towards the lake. I love the colors and the movement of the water in the foreground.

4x4 feet! that's a lot of paint! oils!

as usual, Carly, i love your use of
heightened colours. it's taken me
a while to identify something which
is off though.

it's in the photo you use. even though
it's a beautiful shot, there's a disconnect
between the supposed background pool
as a source and the busy flowing of
water in the foreground. so, in your
painting the pool also lacks connection
with the rushing water.

i might be alone in noticing this, but to
me it interrupts the total flow, [pun
not intended].

Is it that the pool is so still but the river isn't at all?
See I really like that personally and I think that's one of the reasons I was so drawn to the image in the first place. Those two extremes are so interesting to me.

if the rushing water has indeed
flowed from the pool, that one
can see no connection, which is
not disconcerting in the photo,
is bothersome, [to me], in your
depiction due to there not being
an apparent connection between
the two, just a bit of land.

maybe it doesn't matter, Carly,
but i thought it should be noted.

Ooooohhh yes, I don't know... I doubt that the water is coming from the pool...I read it as if it were flowing into it. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter much at all really. Good observation though.
