It had been a while since I watched any anime and cleared the whole series in a short time... And I did it with Brigadoon. I didn't know anything about the anime Brigadoon: Marin & Melan until last week, and now it had surely become one of my favorite.Brigadoon is a science fiction anime that was broadcasted in Japan started from 2000 to 2001. Though it's kinda old (10 years ago...), but I think it's much better than some anime nowadays.
Marin is a 13 years old junior high student lived with an adoptive family. Her normal life was changed when another world called Brigadoon suddenly appeared in the sky above the entire Earth. Weird and aggressive aliens called Monomakia kept falling down to Earth and attacking Marin. But Marin was saved by another Monomakia Melan Blue, whose mission was to protect Marin due to some unexplained reasons. During all those hard time they went through together, the relationship between them also became deeper and deeper...

Though there are still some flaws (to me) in this anime, such as the dramatic mood changes and some weird fetish of the producers...
But no one can be perfect, compared with the whole plot and the quality, I think it's still a great series, definitely one of my favorite so far. The broadcast in Japan was pay per view, so it wasn't as popular as other anime... and it didn't get a second chance to re-broadcast so... really an underappreciated show. :[

Anyway, this is the first time I drew Brigadoon related fan art, and whoa, Melan is so hard to draw! Took me hours to figure out his conformation, and there are still some places needed to be fixed, but I'm too lazy, I'll fix it next time I draw him.
So... hope you can find some interests in Brigadoon, then I'll be very happy. XDDD

i'm not too into anime either but i finished this one in a short amount of time as well when i first watched it and this is one of my favorite shows in general XD i LOVE how you drew this! i like how you made Marin taller and a little older looking and i like the detail you put into Melan's muscles and just the whole composition of the pic is phenominal ^^

That'd depend on if you want to watch the version with English subtitles, or the dubbed version. Personally I've only watched the version with English subtitles.

It just seemed awkward. Like Melan's dubbed voice was alright I guess but he does seem better with the original.

I just finished watching it today after I saw this picture and I LOVED IT.
While Melan is a bottomless pit and Marin was INCREDIBLY annoying within the first and last few episodes, I loved their relationship ♥
The way you drew them just captured them perfectly, down to Marin's ribbon on his sword! Truth be told i was skeptical because Marin put me off several times with her overly excited personality, but after a while she officially settled down and I got used to her x3

Sometime it was kinda weird, like she just went through some extremely hard time while in the next seconds she suddenly became incredibly vigorous.
But I think we can say that it's also one of her merits.

I haven't watched any animes in a LOOOOONG while, save for One Piece, so Brigadoon definitely was a plus; I'm glad I gave it a chance! Marin was full of energy - as hare about a good majority of any anime leading female character 
I definitely am a shipper to MarinxMelan, though there are a few who I think are just adorable, and only two that would also go well with Melan x3
Even so, they do make a wonderful little couple, despite her young age. Maybe they can do a small spin-off of her older
And your art is always worth it ♥ I just LOVE the way you can color and make it so smooth! And Brigadoon is definitely in my top 5 animes now :3

Okay, first of all: I have never watched anime, or even very many cartoons, in my life. Then I saw this picture, thought it looked interesting, and went to look up Brigadoon.
Now I love it. Melan is just the most adorable character ever, and I love his interactions with Marin. I'm on Episode 9 now and I'm really enjoying it! I love your rendition of Marin, too, making her look a little taller and more mature. Melan looks fantastic - I really envy your skills at getting all his proportions right. It's so detailed, too, like with the little ribbon/band around his sword.

說真的我也不是蘿莉控，但是看完這部萌系動畫後我居然完全不討厭まりん反而還滿喜歡她的（！）
奇蹟啊以前的我從來不吃主角菜啊！
妳這個變態，眼睛都在看哪裡啊！！！小心下一秒就被某個吃燒餅的槍劍士給秒殺噢。
（話說，我一直覺得銃剣士這個設定超棒的... ）
這真的是一部超黏眼睛的作品，雖然還是有些小瑕疵（當初我看到コスモス那邊我真的快崩潰了XDDD）
但是整體而言，真的是我畢生看過動畫中數一數二喜歡的啊～～～（BLOOD+也很棒）
真的超級可惜的啦！
當初看到日本人自己都說這是部在日本都搞不好不會有超過300個人知道的作品，突然就覺得很悲哀......。

其實一開始我真的有點受不了まりん，因為她好吵啊！
居然比我還吵，簡直讓人無法忍受（咦）
後來才慢慢習慣她，而且最終結局真的挺感人的。
雖然有時會忍不住浮現「哎呀？這個很吵又常露內褲的小女生才13歲就談了一場異種生死戀感覺好噁心喔喔喔喔喔」的奇妙想法......
不過總體來看，還是很不錯啦！
然後我要承認一件事。
整個系列看下來，我最愛的角色不是まりん也不是モノマキア，而是那位學姊啊！
學姊超帥的！
預告看她抓著まりん一副要揍人時還緊張了一下，以為學姊這個最後的避風港終於也要崩壞了。
好加在她是為了まりん好，只是要訓誡她不可以偷東西而已。
看到學姊這麼明事理，我更愛她了啊學姊（大心）
エリュン也很讚，不過每次看她又開始追著倒楣的メラン打，就忍不住想念一句：
「喂，妳也該差不多一點了，妳這女人！*日本大男人腔*」
至於パイオン老師，從他初登場我就一直把他當成黑魔導失散多年的兄弟看待。
直到看了那個詭異三八滿口「笨蛋」的妄想版パイオン才開始正式喜歡他XDDDDDD
另外我對エリュン和メラン的關係很好奇，該不會真的是午間連續劇組合吧？
這樣被剩下來的パイオン該怎麼辦啊！
你們這些人有考慮過身為剩人組（也不算組，因為只有一人）的パイオン老師的感受嗎？
