So I was on Zingled last night and found this really fantastic Sollux. He proceeded to flirt with my Eridan, to which Eri was all “WAT Y U DO.” Turns out this was really, REALLY future Sollux, on a timeline where Eridan never died. This future Sollux and the Eridan on his timeline were Moirails, but had dabbled in both red and black, and still slipped into both (namely red) on a fairly regular basis. Sollux explained that when they were steadily red, they smouldered and burned each other, so they begrudgingly remained pale despite their love for each other.

It was really interesting and really nice and I am now turning it into this whole AU thing in my head. Probably going to do a few pics and fics about it and their future relationship dynamic.

Older Sollux doesn't change much. His doom and gloom isn’t so constant, now. He’s learned to be a lot more patient with people, namely through Eridan’s stubbornness, and has a lot more friends because of it. He still lisps, but not quite so heavily.

Eridan has stopped trying to be so 'hip' all the time, and has leveled out into his sort of nerdy inner self. He’s dropped the genocide complex, but is still interested in history. He’s grown out of his accent for the most part. His relationship with Sollux has made him learn how to think about someone other than himself, so his ego is quite a bit more manageable now… but still there at times.

In this AU they’re about eleven solar sweeps, so this is what I feel like they’d be as they matured. I'm not even going to sit here and explain their entire relationship dynamic so just wait for the fics on that, lmao.
