I think it's safe to say that Pinkie Pie is a cosmic entity of infinite power who takes the form of a pony to prevent her friends from going mad when they discover her true nature... or I may just be paranoid.

It has long been my theory that Pinkie Pie is a planeswalker (as in Magic: The Gathering). Teleportation even into other realities, power to summon creatures and items from other places, and the ability to see through time are some of the common powers of planeswalkers.
