I dunno...See, with very much all due respect, I think you're better with colors than you might think. Every artist is over-critical with their own work, I think. 
See, I really like your subtlety with colors. You're a lot more subtle and transition much smoother than I know how right now. You're one of the illustrators whose work I'm studying for your color and the "weight" you manage to give your characters. (Can't think of a better word for it.)
*gives you a box of kittens to call your own and boost your morale so you can continue fighting the battle with colors*
