FIGHT!

Had a go at doing some pixel animation over the weekend. Was actually really fun. This took about 3 days from pixel outline, to colour, to anti-alias, to finished animation. Reminds me of a simpler time in games design. <3

May do some more of these little animations, or even a tutorial about how to do your own little idle animations.

If you did enough of these animations and sprites, perhaps you could turn your character into an actual fighter with M.U.G.E.N.!

M.U.G.E.N. is a slightly outdated fighting engine, but is very fun to use. Its an engine where you can make virtually any fighter, from another fighting game or one you made up yourself and pit them against a multitude of other fighters.

Heck, I'd be willing to program him in said engine for you if you actually do the sprites. Would be a fun project to do, need to practice more on my coding techniques anyways.

Not a problem. I understand being busy. I keep myself busy all the time.

I would just love to program your character as soon as you have the time. I have plenty of programing experience with M.U.G.E.N. (and programing in general) and resources for SFX sprites if needed.

I have a passion for helping out with the dreams and passions of others, especially when it has to do with games! So I will definitely be willing to work with you on your time to get your character up and running on M.U.G.E.N.

Looks great, and reminds me its been ages since I last tried pixel art! I think I'm too heavy on outlining stuff lately, you have to have a different mindset when you have limited space for line & colour hahah...I like his boooots!

Special move? Hmmm. Well Scifer's got those way-cool pulseboots, so I think he oughta have some sort of Rocket-Propelled-Kick that has an insane button combo behind it.

There's gotta be some sort of engine we can put sprites into to make 'em fight :3

Try MUGEN. It's a freeware 2d fighting engine, i've seen millins of people making characters from famous media fight each other from Homer Simpson to Ultimate Chimera etc

Ah yeah! I know MUGEN, had a play around with it once or twice. Really DOS-heavy program, lol.

Don't know if I'd have the patience to make a full sprite sheet and SFX clips though. When I look at some of the ones from streetfighter at over 3000 pixels in length. x_X

Yeah XD I know exactly how time comsiming spriting is, especially if you're doing shading properly

Unfortunately, that's the only free 2d fighting game engine i know of
