Stunningly beautiful mate, you have completely captured the Steam punk genre, is there nothing you can't do?

Very nice my friend, about bloody time you posted me some new stuff lol, I love the whole airship theme. You still using Sketchup by the looks of things, me as well, I cannot seem to find any other program that is as easy and smooth  to model quickly, I'm trying Fusion 360 but its doing my head in.

What render process are you using now matey? I like the color scheme for this airship.

Good to see your being creative, cheers for now J

Hey mate! Believe it or not this one's been done with 3dsMax. I only did the initial shape and layout in Sketchup, then I imported it to Max. You see I've gone back to school (at the ripe old age of 45)  I've decided to try out  game design and animation as an add on to my 3D skills in the hopes that it can land me a more interesting job somwhere down the line.

Sadly I can report that there are no other programs that don't require a part of your soul in the process of learning it. 3dsMax is the Cercei Lannister of 3D programs, the most hateful fucker of them all. Impossible to learn without another person actually telling you why this goes there and that does so. You see intuition which taught us Sketchup does not figure in. Everything you do in Max is because reasons. Nothing is even remotely logical. To top it off you can only have the licence for free while at school. After that it costs $4000 AUD to RENT annually. But it's the one they teach us at school and it's the industry standard so what can you do...

My best advice (even if you haven't asked ) is to learn Blender. It's just as dreadful when it comes to the learning curve as MAX, Maya, Modo, the lot. BUT it's free and it always will be. It's made by a Dutch(?) non profit.
I will migrate to it after school.

Enough doom and gloom, thanks for liking the airship. I've always wanted to make one It's just been pushed down the priority list every time I've come up with another interesting thing I've wanted to do.
Anyway, thanks for the comments!

Great to hear from you matey, and even better to see you are still pursuing your dreams, study is good for the mind. I tried Max once, even Blender, like you I was confused and frustrated, gave up, but if I had support back then maybe I might have got somewhere, so keep on learning matey you have the right stuff and no lack of talent for sure.

I will be pleased to see what you come up with, and I will keep positive thoughts for your future as a 3d artist, game designer, good luck
