Description
Some of my work in progress pictures from my latest costume. This is how I used pleather ankle boots and turned them into leather over the knee boots. The lacy trim and the wings have since been added but this is just an over view of how I made the base boot. You can see a good picture of the final product here:Tira - Soul Calibur
Materials used:
Pleather base boot
Painters tape and saran wrap for the pattern
Poster board for the mock up pattern.
Leather and spandex for the new boot cover.
Acetone to strip the protective layer of the leather off in preparation for the stencil design.
Jacquard silver fabric paint to apply the stencil.
Sandpaper and acetone to strip the base boot.
E600 glue to attach the new boot cover.
Worbla to make the new platform and all the details on the platform.
Wood putty, gesso, and sand paper to smooth out the worbla.
Resin cast wings attached to the base of the boot.
Silver spandex and piping used for the lace trim at the top of the boot.
