I do as well and my mums side of my family are from there, i used to work there and living 20 minutes away by train makes me feel lucky I am able to go there to take pictures.

The street wouldn't have looked much different from now as the centre of Edinburgh is all the old buildings. Only differences would be the buses replaced by horse drawn carriages, possibly trams depending on how far we go back and Princes Street Gardens used to be ornamental ponds at one time in the past.

If you mean the tall black spire on the left hand side behind the clock tower that is the Scott Monument and is just badly weathered sandstone. It tends to go black quickly due to all the bus fumes etc nearby.

yeah!! that's totally what Im talking about. What is its history? I remember being on a double decker bus on one of those cheesy tours, looking at it, but they never told us what it was... just that Sean Connery modeled in the nude at one of the schools....

I am happy with the picture and am so glad it came out as well as it did. As the filter i used combined with the weather and vantage point have given a soft dreamy look to the picture. It makes the picture for me.
