I tried once. The result was puzzlement that bordered on alarm...followed quickly with an ass wooping. It's true that most statistics used to be human, but don't think of them as humanoid.

I think why you WHOOKOS has only 5 members.
There were used to be four, Kyo, Scoot, Swiffer, and BB, until Kyo was killed. The remainder of the group sought out and killed the culprit. Swiffer, still torn by the lost of his friend, tries to get his spirit from the Hazel Flow until the Statistic intervened. BB and Swiffer tries to fend him off but to no avail until Scoot arrives and beat it.
Rat, a civilian, journeys to a remote place from a ruined town until they meet the Whookos fighting another Statistic. But this time, they were losing. Rat found a boulder and the Statistic was in the perfect position. He pushed the boulder down and the Statistic was killed. The Whookos thanked Rat for the assistance, and was made a part of the Whookos, though he knows the peril and dangers he must face to save the Earth from scattering.

I really like this story, and your entire first paragraph is RIGHT ON the money. Congratulations. Few people are really able to understand the storyline as effectively as you do.
However, you must remember that the entire !US! !The 1st Movie! storyline is a continuation of this reality. It's a parallel universe, so to speak. The divergent point between realities was back in 2007 (so you don't need to worry about it actually happening...I hope).
Whookos formed long before any of the storyline took place. Rat was included in Whookos because...Kyo said he should be. Essentially, he just disappeared a week or two before the apocalypse. There's been some speculation that the black stain we found in Scoot's old room when we revisited his old house in former Utah might be Rat's remains, but nobody can really be sure.

Unfortunately not. We never finished it. Right now it's sitting on about ten DVD's worth of stock footage on my desk. We kind of gave up after Scoot moved out of state. This is the first new addition to the story in...geez...it must be two years now.

P.S.: I could help but laugh at Swiffer when the Statistic grabbed him (Ep. 4) and start slapping him left and right over and over.

That's what we get when Unkle Sam plays the Statistic. Alas, there are just too few martial artists around to act.
This is...a continuation, but it's a lot farther forward in time. !US! !The 1st Movie! records all the events leading up to the apocalypse, and the rest of the shorts were supposed to carry the story forward from there. The four !Statistic Attack! Episodes handle some of the middle or towards the end. This one's getting much nearer to the end.
