I don't see what everyone hates us for! Just because we're successful, have had abundances of food and other supplies, and have a goverment system that has worked for over 200 years(until Barack Obama changes it, anyway...) and we have almost no real fighting inside of our own country.
A lot of the stuff you take for granted, like some(if not most) of your favorite bands come from here. How would you like it if it all just went away? I bet you wouldn't like it at all.
