Adeline nodded sagely. She wiggled her cuffed wrists at Peggy, eyebrows arched. The detective sighed. Seems she'd have all the Carters pissed at her at this rate. "Becca took my key."
"Hhhhhrrrmmmppphhhhh!" she growled. She shook her head, trying to dislodge her firmly tied gag.
The femme fatale held a finger to her lips. She smiled. Peggy looked down from her ebony heels all the way up her long legs to her attractive face. Her heart beat a little faster. Why was this so damn difficult? In her periphery, she saw a familiar blonde striding up, returning from whatever snoop job she'd been on. The gang was all in one room now. Two without any intelligible say, and two cherry bombs waiting to explode. For what had to be the umpteenth time, Peggy A. Autumn closed her eyes.
