First off, I LOVE Inspector Gadget. The cartoon is funny, the theme song is catchy, and it's a classic. Charlie deserves a good costume for this year, plus he looks great as the crime-solving, clumsy, Inspector Gadget.Related content

Oh WOW. Charlie looks just like Inspector Gadget it's scary. You sure they're not related? lol. But yeah, I LOVED Inspector Gadget growing up, I used to watch it every evening on Nickelodeon back in the late 80s. I think it came on after Double Dare and Mr. Wizard. Good times and good memories.

Although Stiletto out of Danger Mouse was redubbed in Cockney for the US! But then, lots of Americans label any old British accent Cockney.

Why would they redub Stiletto's voice? Just to change the accent? That doesn't make sense. I'm not too familiar with the difference between Cockney and the other dialects in England. I'm friends with DashTube1 on YouTube and he's from somewhere in Yorkshire and I know the accents from that area are MUCH thicker than those from London where BBC is located. Sometimes when I or someone else flip through the channels or I go some place where the BBC is on, it sometimes takes me a few seconds to realize they are speaking with an English accent because it's so much thinner from there.

There's BBC studios all over the UK but the largest one is in London. They changed Stiletto's accent so as not to 'offend' Italian/Americans. But they kept the Italian references in! Not even sure if it was still Brian Trueman doing the voice as I never seen the dubbed version.

Oh, so Stietto is supposed to have an Italian accent? Interesting. There sure are a lot of Italian/Americans here, but are American born with regular American accents. I personally don't see how they could be offended over that, but then again, I'm not Italian/American, rather just plain American.

I agree with what you are saying about the movie. I never saw the movie, but remember being very disappointed with the trailer and previews. Matthew Broderick (if I remember correctly) just didn't seem like a good choice to me and seemed to young for the part besides. The other thing that annoyed me was the person they got for Dr. Claw. First off, from what I remember from the trailers/previews, they showed his face. They never showed his face in the cartoon. Aside from that they had a young looking guy who had a handsome looking appearance. Huh? Why would they do that? I think they should have kept the novelty of only showing his arm while sitting in that chair and used Frank Welker the original voice actor, who is still working in voice over work I should have you know. Or heck, if they had to show is face why not use Frank Welker who is in his 60s who I think could look the part, and then he could use the voice. But whatever, typical Hollywood screwing these things up.
