An old project that I started a long time ago, now remade and remastered. This picture was heavily inspired by TF2 artwork showing the Heavy tanking tons of damage, so I decided to remake something similar with the Spectre Squadron spin on it.

Actually, I made some research and prepared a bit for a comment like this:
The Heavy does not actually wear a bulletproof vest, he wears a flak jacket, at least according to his material files. A flak jacket is body protection designed to stop fragmentation like debris from mortars and other explosions. However, fragments have much lower velocity than a bullet, so Flak jackets have nearly no capability of stopping bullets, even if they are hollowpoint rounds which are designed to have minimal penetration force, since the round bends out inside of the target. So in short, the Heavy isn't wearing a bulletproof vest, this is just his massive body and almost terminator-like muscle tissue preventing the bullets from striking his vital organs and killing him.

yeah I only noticed it after it compressed, it was so fuzzy when I looked at it I mistook it for the vest. but you are right, it is almost impossible to kill heavy with body shots using bullets unless you're another heavy or are critboosted.

True, but I have a tendency to base my artworks around more realistic factors so a character's endurance is more on the protection they wear, bullet placement, etc and less on how much health the class actually has ingame, but I came up with this artwork after looking at a fairly similar one made by TF2 artist Sync-7, and just went with a similar concept.
