This is actually true. Β In both generation I and II shininess is determined by a pokemon individual values (a hidden set of numbers that account for stats differences between pokemon of the same species and level). Β IF a gen 1 pokemon with shiny IV's was traded into a Gen II game, it would become shiny.Β
