I'd say it takes a whole weekend - 2 or 3 days. I spend a lot of time getting the drawing right and transferring it to fabric and then the stitching takes a considerable time. And the materials can be pretty costly, depending on what I'm working with. I'm starting on some large pieces; I stretched a 36" x 54" canvas today, although I don't know if I'll be able to stick it out and stitch the whole thing. It may turn out to be half drawing, half embroidery.

thats not a bad lenght of time. i thought it might take a few weeks but i wouldn't know much about how to do something like that. how much do you sell them for?-if you don't mind me asking.

It's difficult, because I'm at that juncture where I need to start supporting myself by selling my artwork. The gallery price would be different from the price on my website if I was selling them myself, because of commissions. But I'm not really comfortable discussing prices on DA. I'll send you a note.
