MAJOR SPOILER ALERT
Everyone saying "ugh gimme a break release Bismuth she had a good reason Homeworld is no better they should shatter them all"
Well Homeworld is fighting for their cause, as terrible as it is, and Bismuth's justification is that it's for "the good of the crystal gems' cause"
they both have causes and Bismuth is basically saying "well yeah but it's okay when we do it." which would make her no better than Yellow Diamond. And if the rebellion does win then she could basically take over and be a dictator where anyone who ever supported homeworld is shattered or something
She's not ready to be a Crystal Gem and I'm glad he bubbled her and destroyed the Breaking Point. Maybe later, gummy worm waifu. Maybe later.

The art is amazing, Ida. I love the ember-like effect you have in the background, and of course, Bismuth looks amazing.

they should have had a post credit scene or something where garnet walked into the bubble room ominously and took bismuth's bubble and shattered her, that would have been very interesting indeed

A bit of a disappointment. I was hoping for Bismuth to be a new permanent member, like Peridot (and perhaps Lapis) is too.
And they find her in Lion's Mane? I was expecting more inside of a temple of something that had been lost and forgotten. Would've been a lot cooler there too.
Well at least she gave the Crystal Gems new upgrades to their already existing weaponry.

eh. i think the episode had a great message, and if there was just going to be more and more crystal gems, the show would lose focus and not be able to tell everyone's stories. it'd just be too much. the plot is great as is, rose put her in lion to make sure she's away from the rest, but steven happened to find lion, and i'm sure well get more story behind all that.
and who knows, she might return later and learn from her mistakes. it's not over yet.

I disagree. More characters can be better as long as they don't go overboard. It would be cool if, like in say Transformers Armada/Energon/Cybertron, or like in Fire Emblem, or some other stuff like that, that in later episodes the good guys start off with a relatively small team of like 3-4 members, but over the course of the series, they start discovering and coming across more of their kind who join their cause (some who were even former enemies), and soon enough, they then have a bigger team that's more equipped to face the enemy at full force. Some who even do things like fuse with the leader to help them overcome bigger challenges (i.e Like Wingsaber and Leobreaker did once they joined the crew in Cybertron).

the crew chose to do this because they probably have other things planned, they know whats up. there's still many episodes left so there's really no need to discuss too much about this, because as i said who knows if bismuth returns or not, but we know that steven would definitely give her another chance.
i don't know anything about the examples you mentioned so i cant really say anything, but i trust the crew with how they decide to write their show.
