haha yeah that was actually similar to the reactions i saw from the canadians & americans i knew, though i didn't consciously put them in the drawing so it's kinda cool they came through anyway!

I was VERY surprised that America won the first match; but I cheered when Canada won in the second match.
I'm American, but I KNOW that Hockey belongs to Canada.
American Hockey is just.... BORING. No blood, missing teeth, and there's hardly any crushing or flipping over!!

The atmosphere was wonderful. Red and white everywhere. Everywhere. I have a pair of those infamous mitts (the red ones...) and a t-shirt))

asdfsdf those mitts ahh i was really tempted to buy them but shipping was a horror, as usual. they're so cute;;
and if you saw the torch and have the mitts, it's better than nothing! that's really neat that you live nearby. i drove all the way up to sydney for the 2000 olympics but i was too young and it wasn't quite the same as vancouver felt, even if that was through the tv. and i think i ended up learning the canadian anthem too

Okay, you're in Australia, I can see why shipping would be horrifying (everything seems to ship nicely to Canada, even stuff from, uh. Japan and China. I love living next to the Pacific 
I just felt really tempted to sing "O Canada" because you wrote about the Canadian anthem)) ... it's not the catchiest, but it's pretty cool

even shipping stuff within the country is horrible aughh for packages everything under 250g is the same price! stuff from asia is usually alright but from everywhere else it's just a nightmare orz" you're lucky (and for being so close to the US too - for some reason items in the US are 1/3 to 1/2 the price here, but then shipping makes up for it haha i can never win)
our home and native laaand~ trust me, pretty much anything is catchier than our anthem fff and the canadian anthem is one of my favourites!

When we don't have enough things to shop for in Canada we just go skipping to the good ol' USA and buy what we can't find... they actually have a lot of stores that we don't, a lot of products that we don't.
I find it a little strange that we have ketchup-flavoured potato chips and that they don't, though.
I think I heard your national anthem recently, there's Australian transfer student from Brisbane at my school/was at my school... we were listening to it for some reason.

I still think that the best thing that happened on Winter Olympics 2010 was how our runner, Petra Majdič won bronze with 4 ribs broken
