Description
This sculpture was created in 2003 at the modeling session in Alpine, Utah. The model, Liz, was a swimmer with an athletic build but more rounded like swimmers tend to be. She fell into this pose easily. I altered my sculpture compared to the model by turning the hips more. I did not articulate the face, hands or feet because I wanted to emphasize the beauty of the torso and give it more of a landscape feel.Related content

I think it's kind of sad that a sculpture of the human body has to be labelled as mature, but regardless, it's amazing to see that sculpting like this is still a practiced art form. Fantastic work here, and beautifully done.
