Lord Crump and Sir Grodus. The Main antagonists of Paper Mario: The thousand year door. Unlike Bowser, these villains are solely tech-based, as seen for instance when Lord Crump pilots giant robots in order to destroy Mario. So, in Paper Mario, they kidnap Princess Peach, and they plan to Open the Thousand year door, and use Peach as a vessel for a demon inside, a demon that Sir Grodus believes can him fulfill his ultimate goal. I've never heard of these villains, as I've never played any of the Paper Mario games, but when you describe it, it sounds oddly familiar.
Villains building/controlling giant robots to do their bidding, capturing a girl, and trying to awaken an ancient supernatural being to use its power?
That sounds a lot like the plot to Sonic Adventure.

Iβd go with cyborgs. By the end of the game, Grodusβ body is destroyed leaving only his head, and somehow he is still alive!Β
And yeah, they do know how to dress stylish indeed!
