This was at the zoo but was a wild galah, not part of the exhibits! Β Let's hope it didn't decide to fly into the lions' enclosure.I want to try to get back to submitting drawings more regularly, but I hope you've been enjoying the photo intermission, anyway.

Aw, what a pretty lil bird!Β
I used to work at a zoo and one time a beautiful white peacock (our only one) actually did decided to fly into the lion's enclosure -- and you can probably guess what happened next. To make matters worse, there was a school group of kindergartners at the exhibit at the time, so that was an unexpected lesson about the circle of life.Β

Oh wow, working at a zoo must be really cool but also have some really hard moments to deal with.Β I'm sorry to hear about your peacock. =( I don't even know how I would have reacted in that situation.Β It really is a fine balance in giving the animals enough freedom while still protecting them.
