Description A new illustration of my childhood imaginary friend, which originally came from a nightmare I had at age three.

I've re-told the whole story of the nightmare, with a few more illustrations and a sound clip, here: www.bogleech.com/halloween/hal…

Funny how out of all the monsters in your gallery (which I landed on over an hour ago now, I forgot how I even wound up here since its a far deviation from what I normally browse, but had me hooked ) this one creeps me out the most, probably due to reading the story about it and how it played out so similar to nightmares I had as a kid and even teenager too, you know, the environment of the nightmare doesn't look like the set of one at first, it's as casual as your own living room (tacky furniture and all ) nothing seems out of the ordinary, you'd swear you were awake in your real house (or in some instances for me, my school) and then something so bizarre, yet organic comes along and the combination of something looking so random, not even animal-like (like a lot of nightmare monsters are for normal people) yet still obviously "alive" with its fleshy skin and ability to move and communicate comes along and terrifies the shit out of you. Waking up a few seconds after seeing it was a few seconds too late

Now that this entered my mind as clearly as if I dreamed it myself (I imagine a rubbery looking skin like some bad children's show prop, and a "hammer like" surface likened to a slab of slate) I suddenly can't think up any examples of my own mind's attempts at making sure my young self didn't sleep again I'm sure I had something on par with this, if I did I don't want to remember it. The worst part is, nobody you explained it to found it scary at all

That's kinda like the realationship I have with Anomalocaridids. Except that I started to like them after they stopped haunting my mind.

I never befriended my nightmares; all of my childhood nightmares would terrify my waking self even now.

I'm afraid to even ask if the round white things are barnacles,or eyes.

According to the article they're barnacles.

Good ol' Hitme. Nice to see him again. And in such lovely detail, too!

I like to imagine Hitmehitmehitme hopping up and down in place, pausing occasionally to rhythmically slap his flatness with his flippers. I'm guessing it'd sound like a basketball.
