Description "Void Gremlin"

CLASS: UNKNOWN

Another monster known to have "leaked" from a spatial anomaly, the floating, metallic-skinned Hobkin do not appear to feed or respirate, but occasionally divide into a pair of perfect duplicates under intense radiation exposure. Their malformed legs dangle uselessly as they levitate, while their highly developed arms and hands are constantly fidgeting. Any object of any density striking a Hobkin's body will produce the same echoing, metallic ringing, which causes extreme disorientation in many other creatures. The Hobkin itself does not respond to sound, and the function of its "ears" is completely unknown. What appears to be a mouth is only a thin, shallow crease, and there remains uncertainty that its shining, lidless "eyes" are even organs of sight. Its internal organs are a basket-like tangle of rubbery pipes, filled with a clear, odorless fluid that instantly evaporates on contact with air, smelling strongly of sulphur.

Hobkin are intent on carefully disassembling any small object they can get their claws on, and can miraculously restore anything they have taken apart to perfect working order; including living things, which suffer only missing time.

good point, at least you kept really close to what the original report says

I like the additional notes of it's composition (the echo is a nice touch), the fidgeting, and lastly it's nature bent on meticulousness.

It's not very often you find monsters of that nature, and I'm happy to see you've made one.

So could you use this to pick apart and repair the brain of one that has been psionically traumatized or altered, and restore it to its natural/original personality, intellect, etc.? I can imagine this could be a profitable business indeed in the city of Mortasheen.

Restoring things to their original state is fairly common and easy there, some people just back up their brains to copies in a lab

Darn, and I thought I hadthout of a clever job.
BUT, could Hoblin like reset he species of an organism inecte with zombism or vampirism?

Nah, vampirism isn't really an infection, each vampire is a unique species that is born vampiric, but evolved from a non-vampire species long ago. Zombies aren't an infection either; all humans have the virus, but they only become a zombie after they die. If they were "cured," they would just be a totally dead corpse

Well then, could it reassemble a corpse to working order?

I figure they can just reverse whatever they've done, so if they killed you by taking you apart they can put you back alive, but they won't take a dead body and bring it to life; they leave things as they found them

Can you train it to do that though? I just want to know if it's possible, I've given up on any practical application.

Probably not, they can only restore damage they caused themselves

That's too bad. I guess it would still be useful in a lot of situations anyway, like prisoner transport, or the arena.

I'm surprised there wasn't a Hopkinsville goblin Mortasheen already! (unless there was and this is a revamp and I'm just dumb) I love how you worked in details from the actual story like the metal ringing when struck and the tiny dangling useless legs. :3
