One abandoned monorail in the city of Poços de Caldas, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, the monorail was inaugurated in 1981 being the first monorail of Brazil, in the original project were to be built 30km with two tracks but only 8km was built with a single track and only one composition runned, the tracks start in the bus terminal of the city and ends in the center of the town having 11 stations, the monorail was abandoned in 2000, and in 2003 one section of the track fell preventing the monorail back to work immediately, they say that there are plans to do the monorail back to work but I think the company that has the concession of 50 years of the monorail bankrupt or is going through financial difficulties, so do not know if the project would be completed or the project never will be resumed.
