I decided that all ponies would get their first pokemon when they get their cutiemarks, instead of waiting until they are 10. (Since age was never really establish in this world, and has very little meaning.)Because of this, The Cutie Mark Crusaders are even more impatient, since most of their class already has their first pokemon and already having small battles during recess. This is especially hard for Apple Bloom because her whole family has their team, and their Torterras, and she feels like she is missing out on that strong bond they share with their pokemon. Applejack is trying to reassure her, she'll get her cutie mark, and her Turtwig in due time, while she rubs Aceymac's chin and neck, who happily nuzzles back.
Patience is never Apple Blooms best qualities. xD

Idea for MegaMan Battle Network crossover: Rather than requiring a cutie mark for a PET, if you have a unique NetNavi but no cutie mark, it's widely believed that your cutie mark will match the Navi's crest.

The way I think he grows apples is when they are a grotle, they plant an apple seed on it's back, so when it evolves, it grows into an apple seed.

That's cute! I was thinking maybe more of an Eevee that they all make their mascot, since just like them, there's so many choices they can evolve/grow into.

Ah, well why not both? Nothing saying they cant have befrended a pokemon group of their own. They cant own them, but ive seen episodes where people went into a forest and a group of pokemon welcomed them. That way the CMC wouldnt have to be depressed. Also, had idea for sweetie bell [link] (since she would want to be like her sister). Scootalo is a harder one to nail down, but if she would want to emulate RD's speed, why not somethign that can go fast in water? [link] (also their all dark because that would give them a bit of trouble and could be used as a plot point)

I do like SweetieBelle's choice, but I find it a little wierd that Scootaloo would want a fast water pokemon. If she wants to imitate RD, I would think she would choose a flying type, maybe even a fast bug type like Ninjask or Yanma's evolved form.

As i said, scootalo is hard to pin down (espically if its only dark types im looking at *Swt) Now that i think of it, Ninjask would work perfectly for scootaloo. But again, why not all the suggestions? Variety is the spice of life! Plus i could so see Scootaloo racing both the ninjask and the Sharpedo with her scooter ^^
Also, how do you motivate and train someone to go faster...have a freakin shark chasing them!

I could see it as one living in the everfree forest. It could be one of the injured pokemon group injured from the hydra and the CMC *in their infinate quest to kill themselves* would try and heal them thus befrending them. HOwever unlike the puppy and kitty, the poor sharky couldnt leave his lake *and river channels* behind. So scootaloo comes and hangs out with it, and it in turn protects her and shows her the way through the forest.

Hm, that might work. I think it would be better if she finds it as a Carvahna, and once it evolves, it trusts her enough to ride on it's back without being affected by its rough skin.

FIne, by the relationship between turtles and tortises *aka they have a shell* im classifiying tortises as aquatic by means of same body parts. Ergo, tank is a tortise i.e a turtle, ergo water

That's a little incorrect though. It's like saying all snails are aquadic, because there are some sea/lake snails that have shells, but most other snails can't survive near water.
