I happen to agree with you on this, mainly because if he was an Umbrella scientist, then he should be used to things like what happened at the Baker Estate, and secondly, despite the fact that he was able to shoot the gun automatically in-game, he should be able to load a gun fairly quickly, due to the fact that I'm sure the Umbrella scientist needs some sort of firearm training, just in case their experiments go south (Don't want another Raccoon City, do we?).
