Description Commission for RebusBrown

A far darker and more graphic subject matter than usual but, this was quite good practice and fun for anatomy (As a Zoology student, anatomy and biomechanics of animals/humans is a core focus in my modules).
Tried my best to aim for more painterly styles again, I think I may have found my perfect brush so far that I use for a lot of things.
Also, if this seems too graphic, tell me and I'll put it on the 'mature content'. At the moment it doesn't look to bad to me, but I am quite desensitised so, your opinion would help! Changed to mature sorry guys

This scene depicts a moment from 'The Brothers Grimm' (2005) movie; a possessed mare devours a child by luring them in, until they become stuck in the spider webs (coming out of the mouth) and are subsequently eaten. The panel in the right, bottom corner is a cross section of the Mare's digestive tract with said child flailing inside.

Thank you for commissioning me, it's been a pleasure!

Ah, Brothers Grimm... also, that is horrifyingly... realistic. Very well done. Despite not being exactly gory, the mature filter was probably a wise option. That panel inset especially gives me chills.

I mean the effects nowadays are not amazing but the implied horror and concept is enough for nightmares 0.0

I LOVE THIS! Odd enough to say at the least, but this is incredible.

This movie was one of my favorites as a child, and to see some artwork of one of the most disturbing scenes is just crazy.
Disgusting as it is, this painting is remarkable!

I recall this scene and this movie very fondly as a big fairy tale buff. I'd love to see your take on the creepy as heck gingerbread man scene that also took place in it or really all of the other kid capture scenes (Like Gretel and Red Riding Hood). As for this piece, it gives even more 'too much information' and disturbing implications for what was already one of the scariest horses in cinema. Poor Elsie. Still in terms of detail and power this is a remarkable piece and a beautiful display of horror.

I never saw it until now, when the commissioner linked me to a clip. It's quite dated film now but the special effects are still disturbing sometimes!

Thank you kindly

foalish In reply to Seadraz [2019-01-16 23:22:08 +0000 UTC]

hahaha oh totally
had to go watch clips to see the movie
for sure wild
Special effects yeah, are old, but the concepts of whats happening are more terrifying than the film probably ha

Same here, I hunted around youtube for glimpses of it!
It certainly hasn't aged well in that department but no doubt, those concepts gave nightmares, cause ya know for kids right xD
