remake of this old drawingThe Chain - Fleetwood Mac is the main influence of Teofila and Zeus, the song is about marriage or friendship being on the verge of collapse in the desperate pleas to keep that relationship intact, the chain keeps them together to help get through the dark times. It might not seem so but Zeus needs Teofila to prevent himself from going total insane and ruling the world the chain is needed to keep them together.
also these two were based off of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks Rocky relationship within fleetwood mac, which they ultimately separated from each other. look it up, it's interesting stuff.
I put so much symbolism in this, mostly a re-imagining of the original drawing, Zeus's side is dead, with the dead tree and the looming storm in the background, Teofila's side with clear skies and the lively grass and again the moon also symbolizes unity. I freaking love this drawing ore than I should, i'm extremely happy with it

this took just under 4 hours which makes it the longest non comic piece I've done, I put in a lot more details than I usually do and i'm pretty pleased on how this came out

Oh mein Gooott that remake is pretty awesome! You did a great job with the ambiance and the background. Symbolism is good, and it helps understanding what happening between these two characters. Also, their looks probably tell a lot about their relationships.
I love the look Teofila's giving at Zeus. It is so expressive aaaah, she looks kinda disappointed and a bit scared of where Zeus is going to, at the same time.
This one is definitely of my favourite drawings of yours! It is so strong!

AAAHH where to start! I really love the improvement on anatomy and wings. Especially Zeus's closed wing, i see alot improvement there. You have improved with the pattern/shape of the secondaries and how they fold on top of the primaries. There is little things to fix with it, but this is already MUCH better! I'm so proud of you.
Now im brave and gonna give some little constructive criticism. I mean I really really like this piece here. but only one thing caughts my attention a bit and it's the fact that Zeus is walking towards the end of the "canvas" and he's looking straight there and there is sooo little space for the sight. It's common "rule" that the eyesight should have some space. It's not big deal, but just to let you know, it's just more visually appealing when you can see somewhat where and what's he's looking at. but hey, maybe it's the point, we just cant see what he does and we can't know what he's up to and where's he off to.
But to move on. I really like the shades here. I see you have learned the magical use of photoshop for doing the lights! It's what I also do, because it's great and it helps alot :3
I gotta love the fact that the light comes from behind and so the shades are in the "middle" of the characters and the edges are more lighty which it should be. and Teofila's wings have the effect of light coming behind the feathers making them more light, it's great detail and touch.
I like your way of making grass, it's not the one and same old photoshop brush that everyone uses xD I admit i used to use it when I was younger. I still use it for effects, but not too much as grass. Your grass has shades and it makes it more lively.
I like the detailed light and shade work on the chain too. The chain works great and you nailed all the lights on the different parts ^v^
This sizedifference is my favorite thing! I reaaally love characters with significant sizedifference! Zeus being the bad one and small one is even more amazing! <3
To me it appears like Zeus is going towards death and doom, That's why Teofila is so worried and also the dead trees behind him kinda reminds me of death and all. While Teofila's side has lots of grass and therefore more life ^^ Apparently you said it on the description too XD but I promise, i thought this myself, so i can clearly tell that you picture tells story very well!
