What else do you do at your own show but break the rules XD

These two kiddos are technically meant to be showing off their skills in different arenas, but we couldn't resist the cuteness of having the two Szekuly kids right next to each other. So bring on the penalties and let the fun begin!

Soma had been so excited when he learned that some of his family was coming all the way from RPS to participate in the Trials. He rarely got to share his Australian life with them, and he couldn't wait to show his sisters, father and cousin around the stable and introduce them to the horses he rode.

He bounced around constantly the week before they arrived, driving everyone (mostly Greg) mad with stories of his holidays at RPS and grand plans for the things he could do with them all. He had suggested they all come around to his house for dinner, or even stay, but his mother and stepdad had been less than excited for that. Soma didn't really get why, it had been years since Lyo and Luke had argued and both men were always so loving and happy with him so surely they would get along well if they gave it another chance. The idea of Luke and Ryan taking them all surfing was also shot down, though Ryan said he owed William a surfing lesson.

In the end it was John of all people that enabled him to have fun with one of his sisters. Soma had hoped to borrow Garry from Greg and enter the jumping class, but the gelding had come up lame a few weeks out and Soma was suddenly without a way to participate in the event. Sure he could help out, but there was something far more fun about joining in. He had been looking desperately at the classes and listening to his sisters plans on entering her mare when he realised, maybe he could just borrow one of the quiet horses and enter the adaptability trial to have some fun. It took him a while looking at the horses that were suitable. Some were too young, others too high strung or 'too valuable for his shenanigans'.

Thankfully John found him one day looking rather glum and offered Mouldy. The gelding was bombproof and thankfully rather happy to go along with any human who gave him attention. He wasn't technically broken to ride, but he was safe to climb around on and mostly just refused to move when someone attempted to do anything more, so John was pretty certain that it wouldn't matter what Soma had in mind. It also had the added benefit of getting him involved which both John and Soma enjoyed, even if Neaghe would be horrified (something Soma also found entertaining). So the plan was hatched and Soma slipped the entry form into the folder just before the deadline. He wondered if Neaghe would discover him but he made it all the way to show day when he dragged the fluffy gelding out of his paddock, gave him a quick brush (though not enough to really enough to look like he was going to a show) and joined his sister in the waiting area for their turn.

They had planned on something epic. Soma had suggested jumping the horses over the fire, or maybe a pretend swordfight on horseback. Ryan had thankfully overheard that first one and gave him a stern talking to about risky behaviour. So instead he suggested using the trolley as a chariot, or even maybe try some standing on the horses backs with Hope on his shoulders while they cracked a whip. All these grand ideas were suddenly in ruins when he realised that he had not even read the class rules well enough and they were supposed to go in separate arenas. So much for having a grand adventure together.

Hope's excitement for their class together was just too much to give up and he quickly decided he didn't care enough about winning and happily jogged into the ring with her. They were here to have fun and show what cool things they could do. Rules were for boring people.
