Description photoshop, Many many days, in fact weeks, when I started this I could not find many Na'vi to use as a reference, but hopefully I have finally cracked it.
loved the film by the way which made me do this, its been a bain but glad its done, not perfect as the skin was really hard to do.

that's some Fantastic work you have there!
I've seen a lot of Neytiri images done in deviant art and most of them are either a straight copy from the movie or an attempt at freehand. But this is one of the much Much better versions of Neytiri that I'm glad I've Found

I'm think it's great to have a different type of Neytiri picture for a change. I especially like the more natural hair she has compared to the more frequently pulled back hair seen in most posts

Awesome Job!!!

I'm also one who makes Avatar related images if your interested in glancing at my gallery [link]

why thank you so much that means a great deal to me, I had already seen some of your work, and was amazed at your 3D art, thats something I dont think I would be able to do and quite admire peoples patience with it. Your creatures are just fab.

Thanks alot! I'm glad my work is getting out there. Yeah, it does require a bit of patience to do 3d modeling, but seeing that it's taken you so long to make this art, I think you may have what it takes to do it

thanks again

It took me 5 years to learn how to paint in photoshop, seriously!! lol It was hard because I had to relearn how to create art in another media, I was a traditional portrait artist for many years before that, but turned to digital after becoming disabled, as I lost the use of my left arm and leg, i found it easier holding a small tablet on my lap or on my desk, than sitting at an easel trying to balance. I still try sketching from time to time but im not as good as i was. I dont know if i have another 5 years of patience left in me to learn 3d art and get to the stage you at.
Usually a picture can take just a few days, if it takes longer i will put it as side for another time as i lose patience with it and move on to the next one, but this picture just kept nagging at me to finish it hence why it took so long, plus ref's were very few when I started out. sorry for the waffle x

I'm really sorry to hear about your condition, but I'm thankful that your talent didn't go astray.
I've only technically been using 3ds max for about a year and a bit. so don't think that you aren't capable of not doing 3d, but if you do, it will be difficult to run a 3d program in your situation since you need to use a mouse and keyboard at the same time, but that's really up to how determined you are.

I'm gald your great talent hasn't gone to waist because you do have quite a hefty bit of it

ahh then I most certainly will have problems with 3D, albeit my left hand isnt completely usless as it was as I can now type with both hands, well try lol. and yes certainly glad I didnt have to give up my art as its been apart of my life for such a long time. Unfortunately I had to give up my second love which was playing acoustic guitar, I was just learning how to master classical when I had my stroke and found out I had MS, and photoshop has been a godsend to me. Certainly gives me opportunities that I would not have had. oops waffling on abit again, thanks for the chat xx

I'm really sorry to hear about your misfortune.
But I am glad that you are still able to use both of your hands after all those unfortunate occurrences.

With reference to my previous comment, the only times you need to use your left hand in 3ds max in particular, is just to hold down either Ctrl, Shift or Alt. So you still can do it if you really want to
