oh my god, that is such an amazing thing to do with CDs, I have a ton of old ones stored up in a box, just because they always looked kind of too pretty and shiny to throw out... but I'd never even imagined one can do such wonders with those XDD I just wanted to put them on my walls once, but then decided I don't really want them falling on me from the ceiling at night. Your stuff rocks! All those creatures are so complex and expressive <3 Awesome!

Thanks, I worked extremely hard on it, working at a scale that I've never worked at before for over 70 hours. Thank you for the kind words, it makes me feel better knowing that not everyone at Traditional Media dislikes my latest work. I guess I just have to raise the bar to have future work accepted ...

Great work...again! So I take it that it's a bird exhibition? If so, do you have a list of birds you are making? How do you cut the discs? And most importantly, how often do you cut yourself! Those discs look sharp!

SeanAvery In reply to Ravenwolfslayer [2010-12-21 21:31:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they wanted birds so they had an excuse to suspend the sculptures from the ceiling. Scitech is a learning centre that has hundreds of kids coming through a day, they were worried that the little ones would break any sculpture they could reach.

I cut and burn myself all the time, my hands are usually pretty messed up after I've finished a big project. The glue guns are the biggest hazzard, I use them for extended lengths at a time and they tend to over heat and explode.

Yeah never thought about those glue guns, yikes! Hot glue on skin is NOT fun. The kids will be in awe, I'm sure.
