Wow, the thumbnail did not do any justice to this painting! When viewed large, this painting shows so much more detail, rich texture and color. I'm a lover of rough painting styles, so this is truly a pleasure to view. ♥
As others have mentioned, the colors you chose for this painting are wonderful. Their contrast with each other and the subtle different hues are really fascinating. The way you combine broad, strong strokes of paint and super thin lines creates rhythm, and make this painting very interesting and dynamic to look at. My favorite thing is how the few well placed details, the birds and the fence posts, alter the mood so much. Wonderful work!

On behalf of
The part that strikes me the most is the complimenting of the colors. Both of them are loud to me, yet simultaneously subtle.

Beautiful work!
This steel gray/blue works wonderfully in contrast with the warmth of the browns/ochers.
What is the name of this blue, Sean? I'll try to find its watercolor counterpart for my own paintings.

Thank you very much Caroline! I used ultramarine, cobalt, little bit of ochre, carmine. and titanium white.

Thank you Sean. Perhaps I will try for a sky like this. I doubt it would be as a success as yours, but its blue steel quality is so unique. I guess the titanium white mixed in the blues helps a lot to get that feel.
