Description
In the past I experienced panic attacks. They were a result of my life having become so stressful that I no longer felt in control.
My anxiety and depression took me over to a point where I had to start taking medication.
That was around 3.5 years ago.
In the winter I experienced my first panic attack in 3 years. This time I was able to find my way out of it and recover, rather than spiral into weeks and months of painful internal emotions.
During these last few years, I have learned how to express and communicate my feelings in a more healthy and effective manner, so that they do not sit inside of me and explode.
So, although this painting is quite intense, it is a testament and a reminder of how far I have come, and I hope that others will read this and feel hopeful that things can get better by actively working on your emotional and mental health.
Weather it is through medication, counseling, finding people who support you in your struggles or finding healthy outlets that help you feel alive, there are many ways to keep moving forward.
Every moment and emotion is temporary. The bad ones don't have to last forever.Β

Am I correct in seeing these as bloody hands?
If so, I find it interesting that the center figure (which I'm guessing represents yourself) has the most blood on their hands.
Is this supposed to represent guilt?
Are the few clean hands outside consequences and opinions?
The rest being your persecution of yourself.
Looking at the world, I see that many people struggle with the gravity of responsibility.
Especially people who the world would label mentally unhealthy.
It's a very painful thing to accept such culpability. It can certainly consume you.
I know this might be a strange ramble to you, but this is what I see in this piece.

Not strange at all. You're perception is very astute. It is definitely a feeling of guilt.
All the hands are a magnified perception of helplessness and entrapment caused by a
feeling of no control over a situation, or not dealing with something that needs addressing.
Thanks for your comment!

You're welcome. I really enjoy looking at and talking to people about deeply meaningful art.
Some of the more provoking ones have a subject that is uncomfortable or painful.
And it's always great when the visuals are just as good as the concept; makes a very enjoyable viewing.

This is so beautifully executed, and I viscerally relate to it as some who also has panic attacks. I'm really glad you're doing better. Also, your artwork looks incredible.

What a dramatic and striking image!Β It speaks volumes to me.Β I hope you continue to have success and just try to live in the present moment.Β I have found that helps me more than anything ever did.Β
I used light therapy last winter for the first time, and it was a hard season to get through, but in my family we had recently lost a little one to death.Β He was 14 months old and I think that was what kept me so sad, and unable to get out of that deep depression.Β You are right in what you said.Β Those feelings won't last forever.Β Don't give up!
