I think I can explain why everything is a dog. Have you looked at the basic anatomical structure of a dog? It's pretty general. General is relatively easy to draw. Many people decide to just go with generalities rather than learn the specifics of whatever they're drawing.
I'm not getting high and mighty and saying I don't pull the "eisad" mentality, because I often do, but I mean, it's a little heartening to have an explanation.
