I kept a couple of these as house pets in what was then Southern Rhodesia. It was easy to find grasshoppers for them to eat. They are totemic animals in tribal lore, both feared and revered, and were a favoured subject for the local green soapstone carvers.

I don't normally look at photos of bugs or reptiles but I saw this and I just had to take a peak. It's a great shot and I love that you caught him in such a perilous predicament. Good focus, too. We can see all of him but you also put enough of the branch he's reaching for in the shot that we get a good sense of what he's trying to do.Β Β Β
