Description In the midst of sales of the 205 , Peugeot had the brilliant idea of copying the Renault 5 Turbo, which was launched in 1980. This is where the 205 Turbo was born in 1985.

Although this car served as the basis for its participation in Group B of the World Rally Championship, since at that time it was like crazy. While both the name and appearance indicate that it is a 205, the racing version is a completely different beast inside. The production car's rear seats were ripped out and replaced with a 1.8-liter turbocharged DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine that pumps around 345 BHP to all four wheels. Allowing all of this power to connect properly was a double wishbone suspension system at all four corners.

The 205 Turbo 16 won its first three races. He also took the checkered flag in the first three races of the following year, but Peugeot was not satisfied. Thus, for the company's 20 modified special cars (modifications were allowed after producing 200 vehicles for Group B), Peugeot lightened the weight of the car and increased the engine power. He also installed huge wings, both front and rear, to improve downforce. The result was the 205 Turbo 16 Evolution 2.

The 205 Turbo 16 won seven of its first 12 races and took the constructors' title. With five wins, Timo Salonen took home the drivers' championship. In the 1986 season, the 205 Turbo 16 won six of 13 races, capturing its second consecutive Constructors' Championship. Juha Kankkunen, with three victories, won the drivers' title. However, the Group B category was reprimanded at the end of the year and the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16's competition period came to a premature end.
