So sad to know they are selling this, i found it through ebay,US $20 000.00 as far as i know they made several tails, maybe 3, one was displayed at planet hollywood and the others it was unknown, but now this was the tail from the swimming scenes, and important moments and it is!! i wished they displayed the tail like this at a movie museum or where ever it had to be, and now that they make it this beautiful they are selling it... wich means me and other fans worldwide wont be able to stare at this tail ever again, if this is the one from planet hollywood, supposedly the only one remaining, as they sold one at ebay years ago, the one from the tank, i dunno, i was never able to go there and see it live! it was poorly displayed, only back view, to dark and far away to appreciate, as i watched it in photos, anyway, luckily if the winner bidder opens it at a public place or sort of, so people can still see this at detail, im affraid it can get into wrong hands and be misused ,goddamn!, hmm who knows... we all know most of the times it ends at private collections and u never got to know from it ever again, lets hope at least a splash fan can win the bid! The auction endend and nobody won haha! excuse my drama daha

Daryl Hannah mermaid tail from Splash.(Touchstone, 1984) Original Mermaid’s tail appliance constructed of cast translucent urethane and silicone shell meticulously studio painted in orange with yellow highlights and measuring 5 ft. long. This is the only tail worn by Hannah throughout the production and is notably seen in the film when “Walter Kornbluth” (Eugene Levy) hoses Hannah down to reveal her special quality and also in many swimming scenes. Also worn and featured in all publicity and advertising materials supporting the film. The tail has been professionally refurbished, stabilized and placed on a full-body vintage mannequin with flowing silver wig and mounted to a sandy beach display platform featuring the movie’s text logo etched in the sand. Originally consigned to Profiles in History by Academy Award winning FX artist Bob Short. Now presents in very fine condition. $20,000 - $30,000
