“I have always been fascinated with Greek legends.” the voice echoed through the halls again. Nancy knew there had to be a PA system in the ceiling. “Especially the tale of Theseus and the Labyrinth. Such an evocative story. A lone warrior venturing into the unknown maze to confront the beast. The adrenaline can’t help but start pumping. I have longed to recreate the sensation I felt when first I heard the tale. That is why I built this underground labyrinth of my own. It took years and millions but worth every second of waiting and every penny. Already, four modern ‘Theseus’s’ have tried and failed to escape. You are an unexpected fifth but I have researched you and believe you are worthy of my labyrinth. I have no Minotaur, of course. But I believe my younger brother will do.”
Nancy heard heavy footsteps ringing on the stone floor.
“A pure psychotic is my brother. I’ve had to lock him away since he was 10. But I always knew it would pay off, keeping him out of an asylum. Now, it’s time to start moving. The exit is not easy to reach and Ethan doesn’t get tired.”
