Lol, I had a similar experience drawing peas on a closeup of a food tray on my comic a while back. XD
Not quite as many as your carrots here, but my comic is in a semi-realism airbrush style so all of them had to have a highlight and a shadow.
I just about went nuts and crosseyed by the end.
