After the death of the first king of the Pridelands, Abeo, many believed that his spirit became a god like figure. While his descendants refer to him as 'The Lion of the Moon', most refer to his spirit as the Great Spirit. Many believe that he took the form of a star upon death, but that he will occasionally return to the mortal world. Some believe that he returns as a lion, others believe that he can take on any form he likes, often appearing as the same species as the animal he wants to communicate with. But some , who claim to have seen the Great Spirit, state that he takes the form of a chimera, with a lion, goat and cobra head mixed into one. Known to arrive in dire circumstances, or sometimes just because.
Here we have a jackal, who was hunting a family of warthogs, aiming for the babies. The Great Spirit appeared at that moment, causing the warthogs to flee. The jackal was intending on hunting one of the piglets, and she had her eyes set on the fattest of them- Pumba! According to Pumba, who was the only one who stopped to look back when there was a thundering roar in the jungle, a massive chimera of a spirit had appeared, freezing the jackal in her tracks. The spirit roared, or rather, opened his jaw as no sound exited, and unleashed a blast of heat.
Pumba had to rejoin his family once his mother called for him, and she considered Pumba's tail just his wild imagination. But was it?
