Description I don't really like this pairing. Johnny Depp just looks too old.

The humor potential is, however, enormous.

So many size-related fetishism in this movie. I think that, the cat and the music are the parts I liked. It's not the size that counts. It's how you used it. XD

Hahahah! I love Hatter characters, but I don't think they all fit with their alices. In this case, Alice has other things to do, like see the world!

XD Yeah! Y'know, now that I think about it, it's probably more accurate than anything...I haven't seen the movie in a while, but yeah, Depp is a bit old. :/ However, I kinda like these better than the movie. [link] and [link] Given your mutual affection of AiW, you might like 'em.

Thanks for the link, however, I already know and enjoy "When Curiosity Met Insanity", and I agree that it's more plausible.

I say that every version of AAIW and TTLG have one thing better than the other versions. They usually get one thing amazingly right, this version hit the Cheshire Cat out of the ball park.

I digress, this is cute and funny.

I agree, the best part of this movie was definitely the cat. It was a really good version of the cat. And the cat is hard to do!

I'm half tempted to make a goofy fanvid with all my favorite versions of different characters featured.

Poor Hatter! I thought they had pretty good chemistry in the movie -- at least, as close as that pair *could* have.

I liked the idea of them being like family, but people shipping them just rubs me odd.

I get that from some of the Oz fanfic I read shipping Dorothy and Ozma.

I'm pretty okay with that shipping, actually. But I never read a fanfic that made it anything else then adorable and mostly platonic (since they are, you know, kids)... so maybe that's why.

I've seen more adult fanfics with the two. While in reality they're adults despite their looks -- Dorothy would be around 120 at this point -- the authors always take care to make them physically grow up some, or else they keep it sweet and relatively innocent. It's something I want to deal with in my much mentioned but not yet written Oz book -- the idea that Dorothy is a century old woman in a child's body, and how that effects the way she deals with the real world and other people deal with her.

As for the Dorothy/Ozma ship specifically, it would answer a lot of questions about their relationship, including how quickly Ozma comes to accept Dorothy and even make her a princess. Ozma herself grew up as a boy, so to her it wouldn't necessarily feel like a same sex relationship ... how long it would take Dorothy to return those feelings is an unanswered question.

"...that Dorothy is a century old woman in a child's body, and how that effects the way she deals with the real world and other people deal with her." That IS an interesting idea. I would like to see that.

It's an idea I've been toying with for a few years now; I've got the basic premise and some characters down, but I need to firm up the plot and then get started on that pesky outline.

But I'm thinking of holding back on it until I've got a few books published, because this idea is important to me and I want to have enough success so that people will take it seriously
