Description Wailing brunette,
was how I entered the world.
Those doe eyes to fall on my mother first.
Love from day one.
A quiet blonde I became.
No words until age four.
Liquid coffee eyes to love my father, as only a daddies’ girl could.
Snow white curls falling past my shoulders as I prance with my newborn brother.
Through pursed lips I blew kisses to no one in particular.
Those ringlets restrained in repunzel braids tumbling down my back as I ran with the boys.
My dark eyes filling with salty water as my golden power was cut in handfuls from my head.
My crown of waves slowly begins to match the deep chocolate eyes.
I grow taller and with that, louder.
The sun rises and sets declaring me princess of the household as I became older.
Cropped hair, black lashes and long legs.
And the hair that begins to be lighter than the night I was afraid of, but deeper than the dawn I look to.
Shoulder length now, and 18, with those lost-in-you eyes.
Dreaming of nothing more than my youthful honeyed curls.
